Just finished watching Waist Deep (2006). An ex-con, O2 (Tyrese) who has recently been released from his prison term under parole is suddenly put into a life-or-death situation when his young son, Junior O2 is kidnapped when he got into a carjacking. His son is now in the hands of a vicious criminal leader, Big Meat (Rapper, The Game). There is one part where we can see Meat chopped off one of his thug’s hand and just wave it around. O2’s shady cousin Wanna Be (Laranze Tate) however is caught between loyalties and doesn’t who he should really help. One side is family and the other side might get him killed. A street-smart hustler Coco (Meagan Good). The movie takes place in Los Angeles, from South Central to Sunset Strip. It’s not that great movie but it is however an interesting one. There is a combination of hood flick, thug love, romantic love and, most important, parent-child love.
