This movie, 300 is a film adaptation of the graphic novel 300 by Frank Miller. A fictionalized retelling of the Battle of Thermopylae. Here, we see the Spartan King, King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fight against the Persian King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) who think he is a God King and his army of over one million soldiers. His wife, Queen Gorgo (Lena Headey) tries to persuade the Spartan council to send in support to aid her husband fight. The whole story is actually framed by a voice-over narrative of one of the Spartan soldier Dilios (David Wenham).
This movie is rated R for graphic battle sequences throughout. However do note that there are some sexuality and nudity in it. Two parts with nudity, one where King Leonidas with Queen Gorgo and the other part is where the King Leonidas went to get the blessing from the priest called Ephors and consulted the Oracle.
I just only finished watching this on DVD and I find that there is really much blood and gore in it. The nudity part will be somewhere near the beginning of the movie. Nothing much about it though. You just able to see some breast which I believe all this will be censored if you had watch it in the cinema. Part of the movie I like is where they build a wall out of the Persian armies they have killed. Blood splashing all over. Clean cuts with the sword. And of cos also the part where the arrows were released and it made the sky dark. That was really quite a lot of arrows. Overall this is not the best but still it is something worth watching. Now I don’t want to tell you the ending, you can also guess that King Leonidas and his 300 will die in the end. How can actually 300 soldiers actually defeat one million soldiers? There will be a game on PSP coming out soon. It seems that the game has more places for you to fight like on the ships and the housing area.
