I just received email informing me that Yahoo Photos! will soon be shutting down. Damm, now I need to go and remove all my pictures from there. I had them there as a backup. I think I have more than 300 photos stored in there with Yahoo Photos! If you have Multiply which I don’t, they have this photo import tool that you can use and transfer all your photos over. The photos in Yahoo will only still be kept for a limited time only as they need to give time to people to remove or save it to somewhere else. I think I better go and open up a Multiply account so I can transfer all the photos there temporary. If your photos are worth saving, you better have it moved. Even if this wasn’t true, it is always good to have it backup in another place. Now I’m going to open up my Multiply account. Multiply website will be receiving an increase in traffic with this closure.

Are you sure it’s not a phishing mail? I never got this email also. I don’t believe they will shut Photos. It’s part of their suite of services. If shut down, how to compete with MSN & Google?

They will ask all users to move their photos to Flickr. Yahoo owns Flickr by the way.

Yeerrrr I got Flickr a/c but I think I’ll move to Google lah! Cheh I got so many lingerie photos in there.
BUt one thing don’t like about Yahoo Photos is that after their upgrade, the whole page loads so slowly.
Moreover, they resize our pix. Very bad of them!

Oh yes, so they can save some space ma. But I believe you can still download in the original size.
They did it that way so you will go and use the Print function and they make money, I think.

hahaha… think of it as you are putting your photo else where as a backup.
then you won’t feel so bad about all the work.
