I went over to the Atrium which is located at the Asian Heritage Row in KL tonight with a couple of friends. We were sitting at the table next to the Dj but because of the air conditioner which was located right at the top of us, we shifted our drinks outside. There is this nice sitting place with sofas right outside. The music is quite ok but the crowd tonight was low. Not sure why though. Accordingly it is usually packed.
Anyway, after sitting outside not too long, my friends want to get something to eat and they left after keeping the bottle. As I was not feeling hungry and a bit tired, I stay over at the Atrium sitting at the sofa and relaxing. A little while later, the music stop and I notice that there were some malay guys standing in front of the door and stopping anyone from entering and going out.
I believe those were police as the lights inside the Atrium was all lighted up. Even the group upstairs was asked to come down. Cut things short, those that are inside were asked to produce their Identification Card and had to go for a urine test. Luckily I came outside because it was too cold inside. If not, it would be my first time going through the raid process.
I don’t know how long the process took but I believe it was more than 2 hours. Some of the customers were damm pissed off when they came out. What a night, especially for the ladies as well. They too had to go for a urine test.

years ago, in penang, sunshine square used to have a bowling place. a fren went 1 night , suddenly there was some “operasi”, he was filmed on TV3, like being held against the wall, later asked for IC.. quite humiliating. Anyway, i told him i saw him a couple of nights ago on TV , and he said the owner of the place told him they(cop) came asked for $$$ , so often a few come and kept asking for it until they got real pissed and do not wanna pay. so the cop return the favor by conducting frequent “operasi” to scare away the customers.

i been to sunshine square. i was working in bayan baru a long time ago and used to go there for lunch but i never been to sunshine square at night.
why does the police wants to raid a bowling joint? but they isn’t much they can do about them raiding. they can just give an excuse that they receive some tips about some people doing drugs there and raid it.
it is really quite humiliating even for the guys.
