I was just checking my old mails and I saw the email from Exabytes about their RM88 prosperity Ang Pow. This is their Chinese New Year promotion for the EBiz Gold Hosting Plan. For a one time rebate of RM88.00, all you need to do is to enter the coupon code “GoldenMouse” when signing up for Linux or Windows EBiz Gold Hosting Plan. This offer will end of 28th February 2008. I wonder why is it not being offered for existing clients. Are the current clients not important to offer them a rebate? Don’t they need to renew their hosting service as well. They only know how to find new clients but not doing anything to keep them at all. I’m still wondering should I just keep on hosting with them. Their service is pretty expensive as compare to others.

Dear sir,
First of all thank you for your feedback regarding our promotions.
We do understand and thank to the credit from our existing clients. Without our client’s great contribution, Exabytes certainly cannot grow to such scale today.
For your information, we did offer promotions as our appreciation and return to client. For instance, from beginning of Oct 2007 until beginning of November 2007, Exabytes has offered Trade in Your Hosting promotion which existing clients could take advantage of this offer. They could renew their hosting during this promotion period and we would extend their new renewal date for maximum of 12 months free. In December 2007, Exabytes also launched Renew plan for 2 years and get 1 year free hosting promotion to existing clients. In January 2008, Ebiz 1 hosting plan has been ended and replaced by Ebiz Plus hosting plan with slightly higher price compare to Ebiz 1. However due to our concerns to existing Ebiz 1 client, the price of Ebiz 1 is still froze at same price.
At first glance, it may seem that Exabytes hosting plan is more expensive compare to other hosting companies. However although they seems cheaper, actually there are many hidden costs behind the advertised price. Take Linux hosting plan as example, many of their hosting plans do not allow add on domains, or additional fee is required for adding more domain. Furthermore we offer superior customer support that absolutely worth for the value you are paying.
I do notice your feedback regarding our server and network uptime as well. Our server and network uptime have certain terms and conditions need to be counted into consideration. For example, clients shall not receive any credits under this uptime guarantee in connection with any failure or deficiency of web site availability caused by scheduled maintenance, DNS issues outside the direct control of Exabytes or failure of access circuits to our network caused by ISP. You may refer to following link for more information.

Anyway we do appreciate and we certainly will put your feedback into our consideration to offer more promotion and strive to provide better service to our existing clients in the future.
Thank you for your support to Exabytes.

Thank you for your reply.
I have check out the link for the uptime guarantee. There is this part which make it difficult for the clients. How many customers do you think would keep track of their downtime to claim.
“Customer shall submit all claims for OEC by email to billing@exabytes.com.my within three (3) business days after the Exabytes server / network is available again following”
As the December 2007, Renew plan for 2 years and get 1 year free hosting to existing clients. It would be best that it is an on-going thing. I have just renew with Exabytes for another 2 years to see how things goes.
